1973 Vintage Seiko 5 6309-5840 "Jade"

Introduction
Seiko 5 6309-5840 "Jade"
Circa 1973

Stones are amazing, pieces of nature constructed with time. Jade is a green stone that is made famous by the ancient chinese for its rich green color and lines.

The natural appearance of the stone gave rise to this watch's name.

While the lines on the dial is almost certainly a result of dried oil or moisture, the effects on the aesthetic appeal of the watch is totally awesome.

Across the dark green dial are crack lines that completely covers the dial. Add the gold hands, markers and chapter rings, and you have one heck of a special watch.

Adding to the serendipitous appeal of the dial is the hexagonal case. All in all, Jade exudes a unique charm that should appeal to those who want an affordable mechanical watch, but also want that something special that you can look at when it's on your wrist.

Can't  imagine what time will do to this dial.
